Have you ever wished you could have been present when Jesus taught the Lord’s Prayer? Can you imagine being a native speaker of his language and understanding his every word? Our English Bible is a translation and some important details may have gotten lost. This class will give you answers to these questions!
By the end of this class, you will be able to recite and understand the Lord’s Prayer in Aramaic. This is the original language that Jesus spoke. You will also learn to sing these Aramaic words in several lovely melodies. We will use gentle repetitive movements, swaying in rhythm with these melodies.
You may wish to begin studying the Aramaic Lord’s Prayer in preparation for the class. We recommend the book, Prayers of the Cosmos, or the audiotape series, Original Prayer: Teachings and Meditations on the Aramaic Words of Jesus. They are both by Neil Douglas Klotz.
